How soon after a missed period is a pregnancy test accurate?

Pregnancy tests-- accuracy varies depending upon what

you're doing.

A home pregnancy test will tell you

that they're accurate prior to a missed period, that is dicey.

There are a lot of things that can go wrong

with that, just technique of actually doing it correctly.

And one thing people don't think about is urinary concentration,

because you're looking at the HCG in the urine.

If you're going to do that, make sure it's the first morning

void, because that's the most concentrated urine.

You're most likely to be positive and accurate.

A better test is a blood test, because there's

no variation in the accuracy.

And that is probably accurate just prior

to actually missing a period.
